We hold a strong belief that actions stem from ideology and philosophy. We need new philosophies and new ideologies. Actions and inactions around us in society currently demonstrate an old ideology/philosophy that still excludes people. We want and need to transform that.

“Fulfilling the obligation of the report, a summary titled Negro Population 1790-1915, its authors attempt to relay the methods and logic of prior census practices, and in so doing confirm that after the Civil War the discourse of “blood” dominated for several decades. For example, “the term mulatto was defined in 1870 to include ‘quadroons, octoroons, and all persons having any perceptible trace of African blood’”; and “in 1890 the term ‘black’ was defined in 1870 to include all persons ‘having three-fourths or more “black blood,”’ other persons with any proportion of ‘black’ blood being classified as ‘mulattoes’, ‘quadroons,’ or ‘octoroons’”…
Ultimately, this 1918 negotiation of a racial logic still imaginable in a few decades prior is remarkable not only because it must acknowledge the fallacies of the fractional formulations it is charged to report but also because that acknowledgement would seem to arise not out of some moral or political higher ground but rather out of the exhaustion of the mathematical paradigm…Well before the myth of racial “blood” is debunked, in other words, the ultimate “cut off points and dividing lines” once imagined through racial math now seem only belied by it.”
